Embossed Butterfly Thanks Card

Embossed Butterfly Thanks Card

Handmade Embossed Butterfly Card

<

I started with a standard A2 kraft card base, except this one was going long ways. Then I layered on two sheets of coordinating cardstock from the Abrianna paper stack. I am not sure the exact dimensions, because I just cut down to what I though looked good. To make the focal image, I cut a scallop at 3 inches in yellow patterned paper and a circle at 2 1/2 inches in cream. On the circle, I embossed two golden butterflies. Then I inked up the edges with Tim Distress Ink in tea dye. Then I used some gold embossing power to emboss the edges. Then inked the entire circle with Tea Dye and Victorian Velvet. Then adhered the circle to the scallop and attached it to the card with pop dots. I used my porcelain alphabet letters to spell out thanks, and then attached some ribbon and bow to finish off the card. I listed my supplies below and I hope you enjoy this card.

Handmade Thank You Nest Card

One of my coworkers asked me to make her some Thank You cards today. I made this one for her and love it so much, I don’t want to give it away. To make this card, I started with an A2 kraft cardstock base. I cut the nest from Give Hoot at 2 1/2 inches. The base layer is brown recollection card stock, the top layer is brown bazzill texture card stock, and the eggs are blue pattern paper from K & Company Abrianna Specialty Paper Pad. I attached the nest with some pop dots. I wrapped some hemp around the card and then secured it with Studio G Polka Dot button. I used some glue dots to attach two blue buttons below the hemp. For sentiment, I stamped Thank You in embossing ink on Ribbon Tag, and embossed it with ebony embossing powder. The banner was attached with pop dots. For the finishing touches, I corner rounder the bottom right corner, added some dashed lines, and used glossy accents on the eggs.  Hope you like this card.

Studio G 97 cent Rubber Stamps at Walmart

I went to my Walmart today to get a new cricut mat, and found the entire cricut section gone. In its’ place there are some studio G stamps and embellishments. The display wasn’t complete yet. There were Halloween Rubber and clear stamps, everyday sentiment rubber and clear stamps, buttons, cardstock embellishments, and epoxy embellishments. I got a stamp that said Boo and some polka dot buttons. I was little nervous about the stamp, so I immediately got home and tried it. It worked pretty well. My inkadinkadoo stamps are crisper, but the stamp worked and is clear. After check out the new products, I went on a search for the cricut products. All the circut stuff moved to a clearance aisle. All the cricut lite cartridges were priced at $20, and everything else was price reduced. Sadly they were out of cricut mats.  Just wanted to let you know, what can find in the craft aisle at your local Walmart.

Handmade Hello Squirrel Card

Handmade Hello Squirrel Card

Handmade Hello Squirrel Card

I started with an A2 kraft cardstock card base. I stamped all over the card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo with my super cute flower rubber stamp. I cut a 3 x 4 1/2″ piece of basicgrey archaic-prehistoric pattern paper and attached it in the middle of the card. The squirrel is cut from Give a Hoot at 2 1/2″. His base layer is basicgrey archaic-boulder pattern paper, and the top layer is kraft card stock inked up with Vintage Photo Distress ink. His cute little top hat is cut from the Billionaire Lite Cartridge at 1/2″ in black and the band is cut from boulder. I used some boulder pattern paper for the background to my embossed frame. After I attached the squirrel, I used some pop dots to attach the focal image to the card. I used the archiac alphabet stickers to spell out the greeting. Hello is spelled out in all capital letters, and friend is spelled out in all lower case letters. I hope you like this card.

Mustache Thank You Card

Mustache Thank You Card

Handmade Mustache Card

Here is a great masculine card that any man would be excited to get. I used the fit to length button to get all this mustaches to look the same size. I cut all three mustaches at 3″ fit to length. I cut them all in black and then shadowed them in Bazzill bitter chocolate. For the designer paper, I choose a piece of Argyle Card stock from Me and My Big Idea Renee Argyle Green. I thought this design looked circus-esq and fit well with the mustaches. Layered the designer paper onto a piece of dark red paper and then attached cooper eyelets in each corner. I adhered all the mustaches down. Then I stamped Thank You on a little banner I cut out. I attached the banner with a brad. For the last step, I adhered the layers to a blue A2 card. Hope you like this playful masculine card.

Dapper Owl Handmade Card

Dapper Owl Handmade Card

Handmade Top Hat Owl Card

I have been wanting the Billionaire Cartridge for a long time. I’ve been holding out since it was mostly a font cartridge, and cost so much. At my Walmart, the price went to $20, so a snatched this cartridge up. I love the mustaches, tops hats, monocle, and Victrola. My husband said I had to make an owl card with a monocle, and here he is.  I cut the owl from Create a Critter at 3.” I used three different shades of blue for owl. I used the darkest color for the base, the lightest color for the middle layer, and the middle color for the top layer. The monocle and hat both were cut out from the Billionare Cartridge at 2.” For the first layer, I used dark red that I inked up with Victoria Velvet. Then I layered on a piece of designer paper at an angle. The ribbon is white ribbon that I inked up with tea dye and vintage photo, and then taped it to the card. After adhering my owl, I tied a bow with my left over ribbon. The card base was adhered to a kraft card base that I inked up some distress ink in tea dye and vintage photo. In the inside of the card I wrote, “Hello Dear Friend.” Hope you like this new card, and it inspires you to use your cartridges together to make one image.

Fox Card

Fox Card

Handmade Fox Card

I love foxes. I think they are so stinking cute. I think my dog Franklin kind of looks like a fox. I haven’t made a fox card earlier, because I didn’t have the right color orange. I couple weeks back, I bought some Bazzill Orange Marmalade Card stock, which is the perfect color for fox. I started this card by cutting out my fox on the Cricut. I cut the fox at 3″ in Orange Marmalade and gray blue for the shift layer. After I glued the layers together, I inked by the fox with some Tea Dye. Then I took my little fox, and held against various sheets of cardstock until I picked this red and gold pattern from the ancestry.com stack.

Then I cut my layers. I cut two pieces of Bazzill brown cardstock at 4 x 5 1/2″ and 2 x 5 1/2″. For the patterned paper, I cut at 3 1/2 x 5″ and 1 1/2 x 5″. Then I layered the patterned paper on the corresponding brown cardstock. Then I adhered the small layer towards the bottom of the larger layer. For the ribbon, I used a white piece of ribbon that I inked with Tim Holtz distress ink in Broken China, Tea Dye, and Vintage Photo. Once I had the color I desired, I taped the ribbon down. Then I adhered the fox down, before making  a bow. For the sentiment, I used a cardstock tag punch out from the Garden Party Stack. After the writing the sentiment:

Always do what you are Afraid to do ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I inked up the tag with tea dye, and vintage photo. Then I attached the tag with a brad. For my card base, I used a gray blue 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of card stock. After folding it, in half to make a A2 size card, I inked up the card base with broken china. Then attacked my layers to the card base. I hope you like this super cute fox card.
