Antique Pens Card

Antique Pens Card

Supplies

I am back after a long hiatus. A lot has happened. I’ve moved across the country since my last post. I am going to try and post 3 times a week.

The focal image of this card is an embossed image of antique pens. To decide the size of green cardstock I would use, I placed the stamp on the green and measured out a piece that fit nicely. After embossing the image with Martha Stewart ebony embossing powder, i roughed up the edges with the Tim Holtz distressing tool. The background is form the same Tim Holz stamp set. I used stazon ink in jet black to stamp the definition of curiosity multiple times to make the back around. I started in the middle and then worked my way out. I attached the main image with pop dots. For the sentiment, I embossing Thinking of You in cooper with a stamp from a Hero Arts Sentiment collection. i used Tim Holtz distress ink on the edges of the sentiment and then attached it with some pop dots. I then added some brown buttons from my stash from the corner. I hope you enjoy this card.

Tom Wolfe Quote Card

The Only Real Possession you’ll ever have is your Character ~ Tom Wolfe

I wanted the main element of this card to be the quote. I started by sketching out how I wanted the quote to go on some scratch paper. Then I placed down my thickers to spell out my sentiment. I used a ruler to keep the letters straight. I alternating my white gel pen and thickers to write out the sentiment. I cut out two circle borders in different sizes using the Give a Hoot cartridge. I layered the the circle borders underneath the rectangle borders to give a scallop edge. After laying down the main borders, I embellished with hearts, butterflies, flowers, and buttons. Hope you enjoy this cards, and thanks for reading.

I am still working on cards for my aunt with her favorite quotes. Last week with my 50% of coupon, I got a new paper stack, K & Company Geo Floral Specialty stack. I think this stack might be exclusive to Michael’s, because I can’t find it anywhere else. I am so in love this stack. It has vibrant colors, beautiful floral patterns, and fun geometric patterns. All the buttons,  I used in these cards are thrift store finds. I hope everyone enjoys these new cards.

Halloween Card #1

I feel like I am already behind on my Halloween cards. I am trying to keep them simple, cause I need to make a lot of cards. I am so happy with how the first couple turned out. I was so worried the Martha Stewart Paper and K and Company Accents wouldn’t  coordinate, but they look great together. Before I started making my Halloween cards, I got out my limited Halloween supplies, and  gathered purple, green, black, and orange embellishments. Anyways,  I hope you enjoying looking at my handmade Halloween card ideas.

Handmade Horse Shoe Thank You Card

One of my lovely coworkers asked me to craft her some thank you cards. This is one of cards I made for her. On of the cards, she requested was for her professor, who loves horses. I started out with giant horse shoe, and hated it. Once I decided I wanted a variety of circles, I loaded up my cricut mat with various scraps of paper. I cut up a couple different sizes of circles, scalloped circles, and horse shoes. I played with laying out the circles on the card until I had a pleasing design. I made a half circle with my circles. Then I made  stitching lines with my white gel pen and sharpie pen in black. A button, hemp, a Tim Holtz Gear, and various brads were added to the circles for extra embellishment. For the greeting, I used black embossing power. I hope you enjoy this simple, and fun card.
