One of my lovely coworkers asked me to craft her some thank you cards. This is one of cards I made for her. On of the cards, she requested was for her professor, who loves horses. I started out with giant horse shoe, and hated it. Once I decided I wanted a variety of circles, I loaded up my cricut mat with various scraps of paper. I cut up a couple different sizes of circles, scalloped circles, and horse shoes. I played with laying out the circles on the card until I had a pleasing design. I made a half circle with my circles. Then I made  stitching lines with my white gel pen and sharpie pen in black. A button, hemp, a Tim Holtz Gear, and various brads were added to the circles for extra embellishment. For the greeting, I used black embossing power. I hope you enjoy this simple, and fun card.

Dapper Owl Handmade Card

Dapper Owl Handmade Card

Handmade Top Hat Owl Card

I have been wanting the Billionaire Cartridge for a long time. I’ve been holding out since it was mostly a font cartridge, and cost so much. At my Walmart, the price went to $20, so a snatched this cartridge up. I love the mustaches, tops hats, monocle, and Victrola. My husband said I had to make an owl card with a monocle, and here he is.  I cut the owl from Create a Critter at 3.” I used three different shades of blue for owl. I used the darkest color for the base, the lightest color for the middle layer, and the middle color for the top layer. The monocle and hat both were cut out from the Billionare Cartridge at 2.” For the first layer, I used dark red that I inked up with Victoria Velvet. Then I layered on a piece of designer paper at an angle. The ribbon is white ribbon that I inked up with tea dye and vintage photo, and then taped it to the card. After adhering my owl, I tied a bow with my left over ribbon. The card base was adhered to a kraft card base that I inked up some distress ink in tea dye and vintage photo. In the inside of the card I wrote, “Hello Dear Friend.” Hope you like this new card, and it inspires you to use your cartridges together to make one image.

This is a pretty simple A2 card. All the images are from page 67 of the Create a Critter Cartridge. I used my crop-a-dile punch holes in the edges of the stamp. I punched holes after I attached the green stamp to the card. I placed pastel blue brads in each corner. Afterwards, I adhered a piece of pink paper to the inside of the card, so it would show through the holes. Everything else is self explanatory, hope you enjoy this card.

I used a 4″ x 5″ piece of blue polka doted paper from the DCWV stack for the background. I used a 1 1/2″ x 5 piece of blue colorbox textured card stock to add interest. Before attaching the background, I added some ribbon. After attached,  I placed eyelets in the corners. The octopus was really easy to assemble, even the white details on his hat. I added the completed octopus with some pop dots. Then I added my sentiment “Arrg” with some Niki Riki Thickers.  I hope you enjoy this card.

Hello, Teacher!

Hello, Teacher!

Handmade Back to School CardThis super cute back to school card is a 5 x 5 square. The base is recollection craft card stock. The background paper is from  DCWV The Green Stack and has really cool texture. I used a piece of brown paper from The Green Stack for the first layer of the apple. The ruler was cut from a piece of card stock from the K & Company Paper Stack Sweet Nectar.  I don’t like any of shades of green that Recollection makes, so I stock up on variety of Bazzill green shades. I used lime crush for the apple leaves and the bottom green layer of the inch worm. The top layer of the inch worm is a sheet of green from the DCWV Blossom Stack. Both images are from the Create a Critter Cartridge. The apple is from page 25 and the inch worm is on page 65.  I hope you like this card and it inspires you to make a back to school card.

Dinosaur Card

Dinosaur Card

I made this sunglass wearing dinosaur card for one of friends, who LOVES dinosaurs. It is a standard A2 size card. I put the sentiment on the inside, because there was enough going on in the outside. I cut the dino at 4 inches. The sunglasses are the accessory to the giraffe. I used the real dial size button to cut the sunglasses and cut them at one inch. I cut of the little glasses arm to make them fit.  Hope this inspires you to make a card today.
