Tom Wolfe Quote Card

The Only Real Possession you’ll ever have is your Character ~ Tom Wolfe

I wanted the main element of this card to be the quote. I started by sketching out how I wanted the quote to go on some scratch paper. Then I placed down my thickers to spell out my sentiment. I used a ruler to keep the letters straight. I alternating my white gel pen and thickers to write out the sentiment. I cut out two circle borders in different sizes using the Give a Hoot cartridge. I layered the the circle borders underneath the rectangle borders to give a scallop edge. After laying down the main borders, I embellished with hearts, butterflies, flowers, and buttons. Hope you enjoy this cards, and thanks for reading.

I am still working on cards for my aunt with her favorite quotes. Last week with my 50% of coupon, I got a new paper stack, K & Company Geo Floral Specialty stack. I think this stack might be exclusive to Michael’s, because I can’t find it anywhere else. I am so in love this stack. It has vibrant colors, beautiful floral patterns, and fun geometric patterns. All the buttons,  I used in these cards are thrift store finds. I hope everyone enjoys these new cards.

Owl Card

For this card all the pattern paper is from the Recollections Signature Graceful Paper Pad. I really love the patterns. I got this paper pad, because I loved the ledger patterns, glitter accents, beautiful colors, and distressed touches. I’ve already made several beautiful cards with this paper pad. I am working on several cards with quotes, so the ledger patterns are the prefect background for quotes. My one complaint about this card stock is it is much thinner than I am use to. I had a hard time getting the setting right on my cricut, to get clean cuts. I ended up using low pressure, low speed, blade at one, and used 4 multicut to get good cuts. To make this card, I started with a kraft A2 card base. I cut a circle border from Give a Hoot at 1 inch, and glued that down. Then I attached a thin yellow strip of paper to the cicle border and made some dash lines. I cut the retangle charm at 1 1/2 inches a couple of times. Then I glued those layers together to make a thicker tag. I wrote my sentiment with a brown Zig Calligraphy Pen,

Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake.
~Henry David Thoreau

Then I used some hemp to attached the tag to the top portion of the card. The cute little owl was cut at 3 inches and then attached with pop dots. For finishing touches, I punched a couple flowers and attached them with brads and then corner rounded the edges. I hope you like this card.

To make this cute card, I started with a Kraft A2 card base. I used clear embossing powder to emboss butterflies on a 1 1/2 x 5 inch piece of purple patterned paper. The clear butterflies add a subtle interest to the card. Afterwards I adhered the strip with my ATG, and tied some hemp around the card and secured it with a wooden button. I cut two a layer butterfly from the Give a Hoot cartridge at 3 inches. I adhered the butterfly with one pop dot. Scrapes of patterned paper were used to punch out daisies. I adhered the daises with a dot of glue in middle of each flower. I made a wavy pattern with the flowers.  Then I added two brads to the centers of two daises. Then I added my sentiment with white embossing powder and corner rounded the edges. Enjoy this pretty card.

Papyrus Card Inspiration from Target

My inspiration for this card, was a papyrus card I saw at Target. I took a picture on my phone, and have been meaning to make something similar since. To make with pretty flower card, start with a 2 1/2 inch circle. Then use your punches to punch out several flowers in a variety of coordinating pattern card stock. I used scraps from my the Abrianna Collection to punch my flowers. Then add adhesive to your circle. First I  layered on the petunia in circle slightly overlapping. Then I used my zig two way to glue to the daisy down. Gluing down the daisy was a little difficult. I found holding then down for 10 seconds after gluing them helped them stay secure. After adhering all the flowers, I used some pop dots adhere the circle to a Kraft A2 card base. For the sentiment, I stamped “I love you for who you are” on some kraft cardstock using my embossing stamp pad. Then used some some Antique Gold embossing powder and my heat tool to emboss my sentiment. After I cut out the sentiment with my scissors following the curves of the stamp. Then I used some ATG to adhered then sentiment. For finishing touches, I added a tiny cloths pen and corner round the bottom corners. Hope you like this card.
